Selected materials both complement the past and accommodate the present. Bradbury & Bradbury’s Arts & Crafts Collection is featured in the green marigold wallpaper surrounding the eating nook. A large apron-front soapstone sink takes front stage in the kitchen’s clean up center. Craftsman-designed tiles and antique-style faucets recall times past, as do the natural cherry cabinets, detailed crown
mouldings, creamy white woodwork, and simple patterns of the granite countertops. Wood floors and period-style lighting lead you from the front door through the kitchen’s back door escape. And there is whimsy. Incorporating a teacup and saucer, the owners made a simple and delightful candle wall sconce, featured in the dining nook.
The new kitchen is filled with warmth and character. The stage is set; it’s a perfect backdrop to display the wealth of nature’s bounty, view the garden outside, and provide a rich cooking experience. There is room for three or more cooks and places to simply sit and reflect. No one is underfoot, yet there is togetherness for everyone who enters the room.
